| My name is Jamie and I was
born and raised in New Hampshire. When I graduated high school I
went on to attend Seton Hall University
in South Orange, New Jersey. There I majored in Elementary
Education and English. I became very well adjusted to city life
and decided to stay down in New Jersey after I graduated in 2001. In the fall of 2001 I began my first teaching position as a 2nd grade teacher at East Orange Community Charter School. I worked there for 3 years. This was a difficult position for me and finally became too much for me to handle so at the end of the 2004-2005 school year I decided to leave. It was in the summer of 2005 that I decided I had enough of the city life and moved back to N.H. I got a job teaching 4th grade, which I loved, and decided it was time to go back to school to get my masters. I had always been interested in teaching children of other language backgrounds English so I enrolled in the Teaching English as a Foreign Language Program at SNHU. Currently I'm back living in the town I grew up in and starting to miss the city! I am working in the Shaker Regional School District as the ESOL tutor. This has given me the chance to get some experience in teaching ESOL. I absolutely love the students I work with! |
